SUMMERS, John Matthew (Past owner: John Summers Plumbing) – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of John at Moira Place L.T.C.F. in Tweed, on Saturday, June 20th, 2015 at the age of 81. Son of the late Frank and Mary Summers (nee Whelan). Beloved husband of the late Shirley Batchelor-Summers. Loving step-father to Valerie Manchuk (Ed), Darlene Batchelor, Bradley Batchelor (Jackie), Carol Metcalfe, and Donna Batchelor. “Grandpa Summers” to many grandchildren. John is survived by his sisters Elizabeth Turner (late Jack), Agnes Williams (late Lew), Lorrie Maracle (Jack) and brothers Patrick, Paul (late Jean and late Bonnie) and Raymond (Camilla). He is pre-deceased by sister Margaret Sharpe (late Bill), and brothers Joe (late Betty), Frank, Jim, and David. Survived by sister-in-law Donna. In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial mass will be held at St. Josephs Catholic Church of Belleville on Wednesday, June 24th, 2015 at 11:00a.m. (with visitation one hour prior) Father Timothy Shea officiating. Inurnment will take place following the service at the Belleville Cemetery Niche Wall. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
