Bates, Marina Alice peacefully surrounded by her family at the Belleville General Hospital, on Wednesday November 10th, 2010. Marina Alice Bates (nee Bongard) of Belleville, in her 67th year. Daughter of the late Arthur and Daisy Bongard. Beloved wife of William Franklin Bates. Loving mother of Daralyn Bates and Travis of Vancouver, Lesley Joiner and Marc of Calgary, Janeen Ferriss and Allan, Bruce Bates and Jennifer all of Belleville. Grandmother to Eric, Isabelle, Thomas, Jack Joiner, Nolan, Ava, Mia Bates, Lauren and Nathan Ferriss. Ever remembered by her mother in law Martha Bates. Dear sister of Mary Mills and husband Keith of Surrey, B.C., Gerald Bongard (late Carol), George Bongard and Shirley all of Belleville. A Private Family Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588). Donations to Quinte Health Care Oncology, Eastminster United Church and Albert College would be appreciated by the family. Cremation with interment Roslin Cemetery.
