Entered into rest at the Belleville General Hospital on Tuesday June 19th, 2012 in his 88th year. Dear son of the late John & Annie Sweet. Beloved husband of Barbara Lola Sweet (nee-Ferguson) for 33 years. Dear Father of Mida Eggleton (Doug) of Belleville, Sandra Dainard (Bob) of Belleville. Dear Step-Father of George Pitt (Janice) of Belleville, Frederick Pitt of Belleville, Randall (Randy) Pitt of Belleville and Brenda Green of Peterborough. Also lovingly remembered by his many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Dear uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dear brother of John Sweet (Barbara) of Belleville, and brother-in-law to George (Barbara) Ferguson of Belleville. Predeceased by his brothers Ross and Leonard Sweet and by his sisters; Theresa Thorn and Hazel Jenkinson. Joe will be missed by his good friends; Bill Brant (Marilyn) of Shannonville, Harvey Brant (Pat) of Whitby and also by his many other close friends that he worked with over the years at McFarland Construction. In keeping with Mr. Sweet's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation to take place. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Joe are asked to consider the Seniors in Action-Quinte Living Centre, 370 Front Street, Belleville, in lieu of flowers.
