Ronald Arthur Westacott Belleville, Ontario Obituary

Ronald Arthur Westacott

Westacott, Ronald Arthur (Member of the Masonic Order, Trillium Lodge) Died peacefully at Maplewood Long-term Care Facility in Brighton, Ontario on November 28th, 2012 at the age of 80. Beloved husband to Carol (Harding) for 57 years. Dear father of Nancy of Brighton, Jim (Chantal Bradsaw) of Mississauga, and Al (Denise) also of Brighton. Grandpa of Margret (Owen Monague), Alex, Jamie Lee, and Michael. Uncle of Derek and Scott Anger. Will also be missed by Craig Cordier and Genvieve LaPorte (Blayne Condi, Jayden and Brody). Brother-in-law of Bill Harding (Marilyn) of B.C. Predeceased by his parents Marion (nee Shewman) and Marshall Westacott, his sister Barbara and her husband Robert Anger. Adored cousin to Joyce Covert and her children, Betty Leonhart and family. Dad has gone to join his lifetime buddies John Covert, Donald Webb and Jerry Shewman. Dad worked for 35 years on the floor of the Toronto Stock Exchange forging many lifelong friendships that continued after his retirement. Dad was an avid hunter and fisherman, passing that torch to his sons and grandchildren. The last years of dad’s life were spent in Brighton with mom, a place he loved and made his home after leaving Toronto in 2000. He loved his garden and spent many hours making sure that his vegetables thrived. If you needed something, Dad had it or knew where to get it and if he couldn’t you probably didn’t need it anyway. The family will receive friends at the Walas Funeral Home, 130 Main Street, Brighton, on Saturday, December 8th, 2012 from 1 o’clock. Service to follow in the funeral home at 2 o’clock. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to thank the staff of Maplewood for the excellent care dad received while living there. “Death leaves a heartache no one can heal, love leaves a memory no one can steal” www.rushnellfamilyservices
