DEMPSEY, Rose Elaine (nee Laird) - of Belleville, in her 66th year, died suddenly on Friday November 22nd, 2013. She is survived by her mother Sybil Laird Hicks of Cobourg, brothers Roger (Linda) Laird of Toronto, Rodney Laird of Colborne, her sisters Nancy Laird (Dennis Tripp) and Carol (Ronald) Gallant all of Cobourg. Her husband Melvin Dempsey, children Cindy Broadbent, Albert Broadbent (Kathy Marrisett), Sharon Broadbent all of Belleville and Melanie Dempsey of Quebec. She is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Predeceased by her daughter Yvonne (Spudley) Dempsey, and her father Charles Wesley Laird. Visitation will be held at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave. Belleville (613-968-5588) on Friday, November 29th, 2013 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. In keeping with Rose's wishes, there will be no service at this time.
