ALLISON, Shirley I. (Barrass) of Belleville passed away on February 20, 2016 in her 81st year. Shirley is the daughter of the late Rev. Ernest J. and Katharine Barrass, and sister to the late Roland Barrass (Truro, N.S.), and Dorothy Barrass (Peteborough). Shirley was born in Nova Scotia, and she raised her family in Belleville, Ontario. She was actively involved in her church, Eastminster United. Her commitment to her three children, and their families was paramount in her life. She was known for her quiet strength, intellect, grace, and her unwavering faith. She is survived by her three children; Michael Allison (Kathleen Manderville); Paige Sprague (Roger Sprague); and Stacey Holden. Much loved by her grandchildren Scott (Cindy), Jillian (Chris), Thomas (Kassandra), Breanne, Jay, Michael (Nikki), David (Angelica), Caroline, and Lauren. Shirley was blessed with two great grandchildren, Gabriella Allison and Lillian Maracle. A private graveside service will be held in Belleville.
