Uens, Stanley Richard (Stan) – Passed away in Perth, Ontario on Saturday November 15th, 2014 in his 69th year. Son of the late Lorne and Molly Uens of Belleville. Beloved husband of Loretta Alma (Jackson) for 48 years. Dear father of Tina Antunes of Pickering, Lisa Uens (Dan) Wolfe of Belleville, and Richard Uens of Belleville. Grandfather (Poppy) of Sara and Laura; Olivia and Max; Hannah and Ella. Predeceased by brothers Alfred and Harold, and by sisters Mary, Beatrice, and Leona. Survived by sister Myrtle (Charles) Truax of Newmarket, by brother James (Darlene) Uens of Corbyville, and by many nieces and nephews. Also, survived by in-laws Violet and George Coish and Pearl and Roy Bishop of Cavendish, Newfoundland; Janet and Bob Suykens of Vineland Ontario, and by many other in-laws. Stan was born in Belleville where he attended school and worked for twenty-seven years for the Belleville Fire Department. Following retirement, he moved to Newfoundland, where he became a true Newfie. There, he was actively involved in the Cavendish Volunteer Fire Department. As well, he was also involved in fishing for cod and crab in Trinity Bay. He will be sadly missed by his many family members and friends in Ontario and Newfoundland. Family and friends are invited to a visitation at the John R. Bush Funeral Home, 80 Highland Avenue, Belleville (613-968-5588) on Thursday November 20th, 2014 from 6:00p.m. to 9:00p.m. In keeping with Stan’s wishes, cremation will follow, and there will be no funeral service.
