STEWART, Stirling Peter Peacefully on Friday, November 25, 2011, at Trent Valley Lodge, Trenton, ON, in his 98th year. Predeceased by his wife Edna (Maybee) to whom he was a loving and devoted husband for 69 years. Cherished and respected Dad to Margaret and Jack Alexander, Belleville; Paul and Gale Stewart, Vancouver; Peter and Rosemary Stewart, Stirlane Farm, Brighton; Martha and Jack Pearce, The County; Bruce and Bev Stewart, Stirlane Farm, Brighton. Treasured Grandpa to Beth (Hugh), Peter (Jen), Stephen (Lisa), Drew (Sophie), Sarah (Harry), Eleanor (Ryan), Katherine (John), David (Vicki), Dan, Laura and John. Proud Great Grandpa of twelve. Stirling is survived by sisters-in-law Doris Stewart and Helen Adams. He was predeceased by brothers Bert and Fred, and sisters Muriel, Lois Herrington and Betty Donaldson. Stirling was born in Renfrew, Ontario and moved to Brighton Township in 1922. He learned cheese making at Cedar Creek Cheese Factory and the Dairy School at Kemptville College. He was the owner/operator of Mountain View Cheese Factory from 1938 – 1950. The family then returned to Carman Road to farm. Visitation at Walas Funeral Home, Brighton, Tues. Nov. 29, 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Stirling’s life will take place on November 30 at 1 p.m. at Carman United Church, 854 Carman Rd., Brighton, with visitation one hour before the service. A reception will follow at Carman Church Hall. As an expression of sympathy donations may be made to Carman United Church Restoration Fund. Stirling enjoyed people.
