Sylvia Elizabeth CRONK April 28, 1924 - February 3, 2019 It is with great sadness that the family of Sylvia Elizabeth Cronk announces her passing on February 3, 2019 at Belleville, Ontario in her 95th year. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Dr. Lawson Bruce Cronk (2015), parents William Joseph Byrnes and Martha (Kennedy), sister Anita (Marshall), and brothers Earl, Bob, Ray and Victor. Sylvia was born in Mactier, Ontario. Following High School she commenced nursing studies in Ottawa, where she met her cherished life partner Bruce. They married in 1949 and subsequently settled in Belleville Ontario. This was the start of an adventure which took them to Western Europe, the Mediterranean, Scandinavia, various corners of the British Isles and Canada - from Israel, to Rome, to Bear Island, to Baie Verte Newfoundland, to Belle Bella British Columbia. At home, Sylvia was the glue that organized the family household, and she did so with with great skill, devotion and affection. These attributes were also applied to her very active and decades long support of Bridge St. United Church. Sylvia will be dearly missed by her devoted children Anne and her husband Bob Freeland, Robert and his wife Patti (Aspinall), and Michael Sam; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of the Belmont Long Term Care Facility in Belleville and dedicated Personal Support Professionals who have lovingly cared for Sylvia in recent years. A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Bridge Street United Church, Belleville, Ontario on April 27, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Church commencing at 1:30 p.m..
