Thomas Martin

MARTIN, Thomas Robert – It is with heavy hearts, and great sadness we announce the passing of our little warrior Thomas at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, on Monday, February 29th, 2016 at the age of 11. Beloved son of Robert Martin and Charlene McIntee. Thomas is survived by his grandmother Irma Martin (late Lyle) and pre-deceased by grandma Linda McIntee (Doug Coombs). Loving brother to Sasha McIntee of Belleville. He will be greatly missed by aunts and uncles: Carlene (Colin) Petherick, David Martin (Chantal Batt), Eddy (Chris) McIntee, Bruce (Leslie) McIntee, Chantelle McIntee, Darryl Martin (Shelley) and their children Lauren and Braedon, pre-deceased by aunt Trudy McIntee. Sadly missed by his extended family Dominic, Danyel, Wyatt, Summer, Jersey, Sheylin, Nicholas, Eric, Ashley, Asher, Solei and Shane. Thomas has touched the lives of so many at such a young age, and will be fondly remembered by his many extended family members, schoolmates at Queen Elizabeth Public School, his best friends Greg Morrish and Ryan Kelly, and all who have been following his story. He will be remembered by all as a courageous and dedicated boy who had a passion for life and lived it to the fullest. Friends are invited to call at the JOHN R. BUSH FUNERAL HOME, 80 Highland Ave., Belleville (613-968-5588) on Friday, March 4th, 2016 from 1-4p.m. & 6-9p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Saturday, March 5th, 2016 at 11:00a.m. (with visitation two hours prior to the start of the service). Rev. Margaret Goodwin officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Victoria Cemetery – Plainfield. The Family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to many members of the community that reached out to Thomas during his battle. If desired, donations to a trust fund in Thomas' name, the Ronald McDonald House, or Hospital for Sick Children, all of which will be directed towards brain cancer research, would be appreciated by the family.
