W. Kenneth Ferguson

Ferguson, William Kenneth Passed away peacefully at Trenton Memorial Hospital on Thursday, July 8th, 2010, age 90 years. Ken Ferguson of Brighton and formerly of Smithfield, loving husband for 71 years of Norma (Twiddy), son of the late William Ferguson and Lena Mae (Stevenson). Dear father of Diane and her husband Milan Cocek. Brother of Bruce Ferguson of Colborne, Audrey Wright of Cobourg, and Jean Knight of Brighton. Predeceased by sisters Willa, Ola, Grace, and Stella, and brothers Wilfred, Delbert, Bob, and Clayton. Pop will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Christopher Cocek and his wife Kelly of Halifax, Christina and her husband Jack Barclay of Courtice, and Craig Cocek and his wife Aleesha of Smithfield. Loving great “Pop” of Benjamin, Emily, Layne, Trey, Vaughn, and Mila. Ken and Norma ran an active upholstering business for 53 years and he was very involved with local politics, having served as Reeve of Brighton Township for 23 years and Warden of Northumberland County in 1984. Graveside service Wednesday, July 21st, 2010 at 11 o'clock. Reception to follow at Smithfield United Church. Cremation with interment Greenwood Cemetery, Smithfield.
