MAYHEW, Gwendolyn Marie (nee Chabot) 1934 – 2013. Passed away peacefully, with family by her side, at South Muskoka Memorial Hospital, on Thursday, September 5, 2013, at the age of 79. Predeceased by her husband Donald Mayhew. Daughter of the late Charlie and Mary (nee Trudeau) of Maryland, QC. Beloved mother of Dan Mayhew (Diane) of Ottawa and Judy Lebrun (Chris Gun-Munro) of Bracebridge, ON. Very special grandmother to Sharon Ferriss (Paul) of Toronto and Shayne Lebrun (Suzanne) of Bracebridge, ON. Great-grandmother to four girls: Morgan, Kali, Freya and Carlyn. Survived by sister Connie (late Donnie Sparling) and brothers Bernie (Linda) and Roger (Betty). Predeceased by siblings Floyd, Jimmy (late Bridget), Stan (late Ann), Marion (late Pat Lagace), Rose (late Milton Hodgins), Joseph, Delmar (late Joyce), Shirley (late Pat O’Meara) and Ardel (late Bill Mulligan). Sister-in-law to Gerald Mayhew, John Mayhew, Jim Mayhew, Dora Greer, Marie Holoshka, Leona Milliken, Effie Stewart, Shirley Gordon and the late Michael Mayhew, late Claude Mayhew and late Muriel Cone. Gwen was born in Pontiac, QC and spent most of her adult life in Garson, ON before moving to Muskoka, ON. She will be remembered as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, neighbour and friend and for her superior craftsmanship skills in knitting, crocheting, sewing and quilting. A memorial service will be held in Shawville, QC at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the South Muskoka Hospital Foundation or Muskoka Community Foundation.
