JOHN JOSEPH CAMUS John Joe Camus passed away early in the morning on December 21, 2017 in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia at the age of 78, suffering a fatal heart attack during the night. John lived in Bracebridge for just over 20 years, spending his career with Fowler Construction and returning to his hometown of Cheticamp, Nova Scotia after retiring. John married Linda (Gonder) on November 30, 1962 and they had 55 wonderful years together. John and all of his siblings: Philip, Janie and Viola all celebrated 50 years of marriage with their spouses! John is survived by his wife Linda; daughter Yvonne (Jeff MacInnis); daughter Jennifer; granddaughters Jessica & Shannon Terry; grandsons Alexander & Evan Mandryk and Nathan MacInnis; as well as six great-grandchildren. John was preceded in death by his eldest daughter Stephanie in 2011. John was an avid fisherman, teaching his grandchildren the fine art of baiting a hook and cleaning a fish. In recent years, he cheered on his beloved Toronto Blue Jays from his home in Port Hawkesbury, Nova Scotia. His generous soul and big heart will be missed by all who knew and loved him. As per his wishes, cremation has already occurred, with a memorial service in Port Hawkesbury, NS in January 2018 to follow.
