Robert Howard Power

Robert Howard Power died peacefully at home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. Husband to Barbara (Brown); predeceased by his sister Evelyn, father of Lauren (Jamie Hassard) and Rob (Ann Saunders), grandfather of Erin Hassard and Susan Chadwick. Bob’s sharp wit, sense of humour and positive attitude endeared him to many and forged lifelong friendships, dating all the way back to his Y club pals in Kitchener, ON. His career in business management took him from Newfoundland to British Columbia before he and Barbara finally settled in Bracebridge. Bob was a warm and thoughtful man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. We would like to offer a special thanks to the local caregivers who assisted and befriended him in his last years. A celebration of Bob’s life will be held at the family home 2-4 pm on the afternoon of Friday January 19, 2018. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The Stephen Lewis Foundation (Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign) or Muskoka Parry Sound Sexual Assault Services.
