Alan Bruce Drew

<p>At Brockville, on Saturday, May 28, 2016, age 90 years. Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Rochon). Born at the Brockville General Hospital on October 30, 1925, he was the only son of R. Bruce Drew and the former Anna M. Ferguson. He graduated from the Brockville Collegiate Institute, served in The Royal Canadian Artillery and Canadian Intelligence Corps, prior to graduating from Queens University as a Civil Engineer in 1950. He worked on various construction projects with B.K. Boothe Construction in Barrie, London, Owen Sound, Madoc and as Supervising Engineer in Etobicoke Township prior to joining Imperial Oil Limited in 1952. In 1956, he married Joan Marie Rochon of Saskatoon, in Ottawa. During his career with Imperial Oil Ltd., he held various management and executive positions in Montreal, Halifax, Sarnia, Vancouver and Toronto, before retiring to Brockville in 1984. He is predeceased by his wife Joan. Survived by his three sons, Alan (Melanie) Drew of Mississauga, Don (Diana) Drew of Uxbridge and John Drew of BC., also his grandchildren, Connor, Denam and DaShawna. He enjoyed the company of his family and close friends at his home on the St. Lawrence River, his winter get was Marco Island, Florida and an occasional game of golf at the Brockville Country Club.</p><p><br></p><p>A ceremony celebrating Alan's life will be held on Sunday, June 5th at 1 pm at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville with Fr. Roy Nixon officiating. A reception will follow in the funeral home reception centre. Interment will take place at Oakland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to St. Paul's Anglican Church Memorial Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
