Allen (Al) Hurley

<p>It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Allen Hurley (known as Allen or Al) on Thursday April 11, 2019 at the Brockville General Garden St. site, he was 85 years old. He was a Navy Korean war veteran serving on a number of ships, also a skilled millwright by trade and before retirement was the administrator of Legion Village seniors complex in Brockville. He was the last surviving member of his family, predeceased by his parents and his brothers Darrell, Redmond and most recently Karl (survived by wife Henrietta). He was predeceased by his first wife Pearl Hurley, where they celebrated their golden anniversary, a life full of children and family times. Then by his second wife Mabel Shannon Hurley where they enjoyed many adventures, cruises and travelling throughout the world. He was loved by his children John Hurley (Norma), Carol Holmgren (Steve), Wendy Hurley, and Chris Hurley (Sharon). Dearly missed by his grandchildren Patrick Hurley (Amanda), Sean Hurley, Kevin Hurley, Michael Holmgren, Matthew Holmgren, Ryley White, Alexis Hurley and Ben Hurley. He will also be remembered and missed by Mabel’s children, Hunter Shannon, Lindsay Shannon, and Graham Shannon (Janet) and their children Jess and Faith. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends will be received at Wall Street United Church on Sunday April 14th at 1:00 pm in Heritage Hall, followed by a service at the church 2:00 pm. A reception will follow the service with light refreshments for an informal gathering in Living Room at the church. Donations to the Wall St United Church or the Brockville Palliative Care would be greatly appreciated.
