Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Barbara Mary (Wiggins) Pollard, at the age of 85 years. Beloved wife of the late Reginald Pollard and cherished mother of Bridget "Helen" Morton and her husband Dennis of Dover, Delaware; Andrew Pollard and his wife Betty of Kingston and Jeremy Pollard and his wife Patricia Phillips of Barrie. Loving grandmother of Christopher, Jennifer, Richard, Michael, Geoffrey and Sarah, and great grandmother of Jasper. She was a special person in the lives of Rob, Heather, Kara, Gary, Chris, Lydia, Myko and Jacquie. Predeceased by her siblings Jack, Bob, Molly, Peggy and Peter. Born in Wensleydale, Yorkshire, her life was filled with adventure, laughter, good food and wine and many fabulous friendships. She was a gracious lady who inspired others to grasp beyond their reach,especially her family. The family wishes to express their thanks to the staff of BGH and the Palliative Care unit for the extraordinary care they provided in Mom’s last few weeks of life. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home & Chapel,4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 10 am until12 Noon. A service in honour and celebration of Barbara's life will take place in the Chapel on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by a reception in the funeral home reception centre. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Palliative Care or the Brockville Museum would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
