<p>GLAZIER, CECIL CARSON </p><p><br></p><p>Passed away peacefully at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville, on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at the age of 94 years. Born June 12 1920, Fairfield. son of the late Carson and Cora Glazier. Educated at Victoria Public School and Brockville Collegiate Institute and Vocational School. Growing up in Brockville, Cecil rowed on the St Lawrence River and biked around the area with his best friend, Jack Cox. To serve his country, he joined the RCAF in 1942 and served in England as Leading Aircraftsmen, Lancaster Heavy Bombers with #6 Group, 428 Ghost Squadron, Middleton St. George. While overseas, Dad married the love of his life, Anne in 1945 and they returned to Brockville after the war to start a new life together. Cecil found employment with Mr Stewart of Stewarts Stationary Store and later, with partner Lorne Mallory, they purchased the business from Mr. Stewart and continued to expand the business throughout Eastern Ontario until his retirement in 1987. Cecil had a lifelong love for `the River` and was an avid sailor and member of the Brockville Yacht Club. He enjoyed racing and cruising with family and friends. Later, he loved spending summers at the cottage on Grenadier Island. Winters were spent skiing with his sons and grandchildren and many weekends were spent with trips to Big Tupper, NY, Throughout his life, Cecil was a respected member of the community as a businessman and with his service to the community of Brockville through the Trinity Anglican church and the Brockville Lions Club, with over 50 years of service including as President (1965-1966). His generosity knew no bounds as evidenced by an award from the Red Cross acknowledging his 100 blood donations. As a member of RCAF 426 Wing, Cecil was among the group that founded the beginnings of Brockville Municipal Airport. One of Cecil's proudest accomplishments was compiling a list of fellow students of BCI who lost their lives during the world wars, in honour of his childhood friend, Jack Cox. The book now resides in a place of honour at BCIVS. Cecil is survived by his two 2 sons, David (Heather) and Peter (Lorie), and 4 grandchildren, Genevieve, Elizabeth, Robert and Emma. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday, March 16th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Members of the Brockville Lions Club will hold a memorial service on Monday evening at 6:45 pm. A Ceremony in Celebration of Cecil's life will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 17th. In remembrance, donations to the Brockville General Hospital Foundation, Brockville and District Palliative Care, or Loaves and Fishes will be gratefully acknowledged.
