Retired Financial Manager for the Port of Prescott, passed away peacefully surrounded
by her family on Thursday January 22, 2009 at age 61 after a courageous 3 year
battle with cancer. Predeceased by her father Ernest "Ernie". Survived by her mother
Béatrice and three brothers Jean (Claudette Glazer), Gérard (Louise Lemay) and
Jacques (Janis Cooper), her nieces Sylvie, Kariane, Veronique, Alexis, Veronica
and her nephew Michel. Claire's unwavering commitment to helping others made her
a role model in the community of Prescott, where she continually strived to improve
the quality of life for everyone she knew. Claire's caring and volunteer spirit was surpassed
only by her generosity. She will be sadly missed by her many friends. The family would like
to thank the health care professionals at Elizabeth Bruyère for their compassionate care.
As per Claire's last wishes, there will be no visitation. A memorial mass will be held at
St. Marks Catholic Church in Prescott on Wednesday, March 04, 2009 at 11:00 am followed by a reception in the St. Mark's Parish Centre. Cremation and interment will take place at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Tribute Centre & Crematorium, Maitland. Donations to the Canadian
Cancer Society would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Irvine Funeral Home, 4
