<p>Passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site, on Saturday, September 14, 2013; David Lawrence Vaughan, at the age of 66 years. Beloved husband of Mary Anne (nee Ross). Loving father of Brandon and his wife Nancy, Steven and his wife Sarah, and Heather and her husband Scott Laushway. Cherished grandfather (Bampa) of Devin, Owen and Morgan; Emma and Michael; Evie, Alexis and Zoë. Dear brother of Debbie LaBonté (Michel) and Gwen Coleman (Ron). Also survived by several nieces and nephews. David will be fondly remembered by over 90 foster children whom he and Mary Anne had welcomed into their home over their many years of involvement in Foster Families. He was predeceased by his parents Arnold and Peggy Vaughan. David had a long career as an executive in the manufacturing industry with Dominion Textiles in Cornwall, and Yarmouth, Nova Scotia eventually serving as plant manager. He returned to Mary Anne's home town in 1996 to work with his brother-in-law, Ted Ross, in Chevron Construction, retiring as the President of the firm in 2011. David was a proud Rotarian and was recently honoured as a Paul Harris Fellow of Rotary International. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., and after 9:30 on Thursday morning. A ceremony celebrating David's life will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19th. Interment to follow at Oakland Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to Brockville and District Palliative Care, or to the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program at Brockville General Hospital will be gratefully acknowledged.
