Entered into rest at his home with his loving family by his side on Thursday, July 29, 2010 at the age of 85 years. Husband of the late Yvonne Christina (Bowers) Thompson. Cherished father to Patsy Gemmell, Valerie Templeton (Douglas), Bonnie Durrant (Dan), Blaise Thompson (Tammy), Boyd Thompson (Sue) and Candy McCoo. Fondly remembered by 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Predeceased by a great granddaughter Ava. Special thanks to RPN Barb Edgley for our dad's last night of such comfort , PSW Susan Edwards whom dad cared deeply for, to Peter and Lynn from The Mill Restaurant and the care and love from Palliative Care, Bay Shore and Dr Wagg and Dr. Slowey. Family and friends may pay their respects and the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 7-9 pm. A service in celebration of Elton's life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery.
