Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Charles Street Site on Saturday, February 11, 2017. Ethel Elizabeth (Young) Sands, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of Ronald Lewis Sands and cherished mother of Connie Joynt (Patrick), Terry Sands, Heather Clouthier (Jerry) and Barry Sands (Denise). Loving grandmother of Amanda, Jordan, Jeremy, Christopher, Cory, Logan and Dillon. Also survived by her 4 great grandchildren; her sisters Georgina Lafirst and Donna Judd; by brothers Earl, Carl and Charlie Young and by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by siblings Ella, Adelle, Myrtle, Dorothy, Florence, Frank, Harry, Fred and Bobby.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday, February 14, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A ceremony celebrating Ethel's life will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at 11 am followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Capital Memorial Gardens, Ottawa. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute or the Canadian Mental Health Association will be gratefully acknowledged.
