Peacefully at home on Friday, August 21, 2009, in his 90th year, George MacRae Hendry, beloved father of Susan of Brockville, Ross of Halifax, Neil (Wendy Wallace) of Kitchener, Janice (Bill Cote) of Gibsons, B.C., Mary Louise of Sidney, B.C., Katherine (Glen McDonald) of Stittsville, and David (Kelly Bush) of Brockville. Will be sadly missed also by his sister Shirley Hendry, 13 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Jean Keery and brother-in-law Richard Watkins and their families, and many cousins and friends. Predeceased by his wife Carolyn Knight Watkins, a daughter Christine Anne (Palmer), and his parents George A. J. Hendry and Margaret McRae. Visitation at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday, August 28 from 7-9 pm and Saturday, August 29 from 10-11 am. Memorial service in the Chapel at 11 am Saturday August 29 followed by a gathering for family and friends. For those wishing, the family will gratefully acknowledge in memoriam donations to the Salvation Army in Brockville, First Presbyterian Church Brockville, or the Scott Mission (Toronto).
