On Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the age of 91 years, while staying with family by the River that was a place of joy throughout her life. Beloved wife of the late Charles Buell. Loving mother of David and his wife Becky of North Bay, and Peter and his wife Lisa of Rockport. Cherished grandmother of Jennifer (Evan Moore), Jeffrey (Kathy Joy), William (Samantha Meunier), Lindsay (Brad Craig-Pettem), Emily (Evan Hayter) and Kelly and great-grandmother of Charles Wesley, Annie, Jonah and Ben, along with one more expected soon. Also survived by her sister-in-law Beverley Fairbourn, her cousin John Mack and his wife Carolyn, and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Horace and Florence (Johnston) Fairbourn, by her sister Jean Coutu and her husband Frank, and by her brother Jack Fairbourn.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, on Wednesday, January 28th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. and Thursday, January 29th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of a ceremony in celebration of Gert's life which will take place at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel.
