Peacefully at his home, with his beloved wife Elizabeth (Liz) Smith nee Macartney by his side. He has left us to meet his Lord and Savior.

Son of the late Elmer and the late Sarah Smith of Frankford, Ontario. Brother of Carl (Barb) of Frankford, Ontario and Carl’s two daughter Debbie and Colleen, Gord’s two nieces.

Survived by his three children Ron and his family, Pamela DeVries (Chris) and their son Christopher (Jacy) of Winnipeg and a daughter that has been estranged from him for many years and her children one being, Serena Godfrey (Patrick) and Gord’s one great grandson, Bellamy. Survived also by two dearly loved step daughters Stephanie (Mark) Windsor Ontario, and Kathleen - Brockville and her two children Carson and Kate.

Gord was employed for 24 years with Ontario Corrections (Rideau Correctional Centre - Burritt’s Rapids) as a welding instructor. He was well known in Eastern Ontario for breeding and selling Beagles and later Rottweilers, training and selling Quarter horses, driving horses and Boer goats. He trained many great driving horses over the years. Gord and his wife, for 29 years drove their pair of black horses and Victoria Skeleton Boot carriage for a great many weddings in the area.

Gord was a member of Centennial Road Church for 37 years. We ask that donations in his memory can be made to Centennial Road Church - Children’s Ministry, 3545 County Road #27, Lyn, ON, K0E 1M0, www.centennialroad.com.

A service in honour of Gord will take place at Centennial Road Church, 3545 County Road #27, Lyn on Wednesday, March 3rd, 2021 at 1 pm. Covid protocols will be in effect with registration of attendance required. To register, please RSVP below or call 613-342-2828
