On Saturday, December 31, 2011 at Kingston General Hospital; Hugh Vincent McCarthy of Brockville at the age of 75 years. Beloved husband of Marie (Kelly) McCarthy. Loving father of Mary Teresa Bernard (Roger), Kevin McCarthy (Sandra) all of Brockville, Mark McCarthy (Carrie Ann) of Peterborough and Brian McCarthy (Julie) of Athens. Fondly remembered by nine grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Erica, Andrew, Shannon, Mitchell, Michael, Fiona and Gavin and by his great-granddaughter Kiagh Bernard. Dear brother of Noreen Coulter (the late Wes), Edith Kelly (Jim), Rita Truelove (Ray), and Terry McCarthy (Debbie). Also survived by sisters-in-law Patricia McCarthy, Frances Colterman, Katherine Kelly and Rita Kelly as well as by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by an infant son Joseph, by his parents Leo and Teresa (Gavin) McCarthy and by his brother Gerald. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Friday at 10:30 a.m. followed by interment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Mutliple Sclerosis Society or Kingston Regional Cancer Centre will be gratefully acknowledged.
