Passed away peacefully in his 80th year surrounded by loving family at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden St. Site on April 10, 2010. He was born February 13, 1931 to Horace and Florence (Johnston) Fairbourn who predeceased him. Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Beverley (Kenney) Fairbourn; by his children Linda Owen (John) of Brockville, Janice Robinson (David) of Winnipeg and Gordon Fairbourn (Donna) of Brockville. Much loved and cherished Grandpa of Michael Owen (Lindsay Wilson), Kevin Owen, Lauren Owen, Andrew Robinson, Katie Weber (Jonathon), Laura Robinson, Sara Fairbourn and great-grandson Liam Weber. Jack is also survived by his eldest sister Gertrude Buell, brothers-in-law Don Kenney (Mary) of Brockville, Doug Kenney (Gail) of Dartmouth, sister-in-law Gloria Kenney of Brockville and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Jean Coutu and brothers-in-law Charles Buell, Frank Coutu and Bill Kenney all of Brockville. A Memorial Service in Celebration of Jack's life will be held at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, April 15th at 2:00 p.m. While there will be no prior visitation, the family will greet friends at a reception to follow the service in the Irvine Reception Centre. Cremation will take place at Roselawn with interment at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. In remembrance, donations to Brockville District Palliative Care or the Leukemia Research Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
