Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on the evening of Friday, December 11, 2009 at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville. James Dalglish (Jim) Forrest, at the age of 90 years. Beloved husband for over 67 years of Ruth (Hellyer) Forrest. Loving father of Jim and his wife Ingrid, and Ken and his wife Karen. Cherished grandfather of Shannon and Ainslie and great grandfather of Taylor, Michael and Meghan Murray; Aiden, Logan, Quinlan and Rowyn Serne. Dear brother-in-law of Ken and Doreen Hellyer, Gladys Jacques, Phyllis Hamelin, Robert Hellyer, Rolland Hellyer, Patricia and Al Knowles, Barbara and Joe Hannewyk and May Hellyer. Predeceased by his parents Duncan and Lucy (Dalglish) Forrest, by sisters Ruby Johnston (Ford) and Margaret Storie (Art); and by brothers and sisters-in-law George Jacques, Harold Hamelin, Nancy, Lillian and Frederick Hellyer. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Ceremony in Celebration of Jim's life will be held in the Irvine Chapel on Thursday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. followed by a reception in the Irvine Reception Centre. Private interment at Oakland Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Royal Canadian Legion Poppy Fund will be gratefully acknowledged.
