A Ventnor area resident, James Douglas Gillespie, died in hospital following a brief illness at the age of 80 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Beverley Gillespie (nee Moore), his parents, Guy and Lucy (nee Roche) Gillespie, and his sisters Theresa Gillespie and Lulu Montgomery. He is survived by his son Evan Gillespie and his wife Kathy of R.R. 3 Spencerville, and his daughter Jo Anne Workman of R.R. 4 Kemptville. Also survived by grandchildren Robin and Heather Workman (Brandon), great grandchildren Skyler, Abby, Aiden, Braxton and Mia Robinson, cousin Lorraine Gillespie of Calgary, sister-in-law Barbara Reid (Richard) of Edmonton and many nieces and nephews. A private family service will be held with interment at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Spencerville, at a later date. Donations in memory of James to the Kemptville District Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit) of to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
