Joan Wilkes Brockville, Ontario Obituary

Joan Wilkes

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Joan, beloved wife, wonderful mother and cherished friend on Sunday 29th August at Brockville General Hospital, Brockville Ontario. Joan was a bright spark, and a spirited personality who dearly loved all those in her life. Her creative talents were many, from painting to cake decorating, she was always a gracious host and possessed a compassionate ear and kind heart. She had a successful career in real estate. Joan has given us countless wonderful memories and words cannot express the void left in our lives. She will be missed by her loving husband of 56 years Roderick, her sons Philip, Jeffrey and Steven, their partners, Patricia, Simon and Janis, her grandchildren Cody, Michele, Kaitlin, Trevor, Brenden and Alyssa. Joan was kid sister to Murray and Paul, and sister in law to Howard (deceased), Eileen, Rolly, Norma (deceased) and Barbara, and aunt to all the nieces, nephews, and cousins in both the Tipping and Wilkes clans. She of course was a dear friend to many in Brockville, Toronto and beyond. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday, September 2 from 12-2 pm. A memorial service celebrating her long and full life will be held in the Chapel at 2 pm followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, Canadian Diabetes Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
