Passed away peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on August 19, 2018 at the age of 76 years. Beloved husband of Marlene (nee Ross), dear father of Jeff Fournell and Donna Merkley and beloved son of Hazel Fournell (nee Carr) and the late Robert Fournell. Stepfather to Derrick, Jennifer and Christopher Poelstra. Sadly missed by 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Brother of Jo-Anne Maude Anderson and Paulette Dochstader (Larry). Predeceased by his sister Bonnie Patenaude (Jerry survives) and three brothers-in-law Archie Giffin, Robert Maude and Mac Anderson.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at New Hope Brockville Tabernacle, 2811 Second Concession on Friday, August 24th from 11 am until 1 pm when a celebration of John's life will be held at 1 o'clock in the sanctuary. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation; Palliative Care, Diabetes Canada or New Hope Brockville Tabernacle will be gratefully acknowledged.
