<p>It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of John "Gimp" Somerville on Thursday, January 18, 2018 at the age of 67 years. John will be sadly missed by his son and best friend Brodie and by Brodie's mom Tammy. Survived by his brother Ian and sisters Penelope Somerville and Suzanne Guy. Predeceased by his parents Evelyn (Russell) and Robert Somerville. Sadly missed by Mary and her family.</p><p><br></p><p>John was an avid sportsman; playing and volunteering in many sports. He and Brodie were the founders of the St. Lawrence Speedskating Club in Brockville.</p><p><br></p><p>A celebration of John's life will take place at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Saturday, February 10, 2018 from 11 am - 1 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the St. Lawrence Speed Skating Club or a charity of your choice will be gratefully acknowledged.
