Bewick, Joseph John Robert

Joseph Bewick died June 3, 2013 at the Brockville General Hospital. Much loved husband to Olive wife of 70 years. Loving father to Muriel Laderoute (Denis) and Allan (Shirley). Dear granddad to Wayne Bewick (Christine), Laura Howitt (Will), Jeff Bewick, Paul Laderoute, Shelley Leveille (Henry) and Jason Laderoute (Lisa). Great grandfather to Dan, Robyn, Nicholas, Bailey, Sam, Grace, Joseph, Olivia, Iliana and Nathan and great great grandfather to Landon.

Joseph joined the North Eastern Marine Engineering of Sunderland, England. Emigrating in 1956 to be with Davie Shipbuilding in Lauzon. Retiring as a manager in 1983, moving to Martintown, Ontario until 2012 then moving to Brockville to be beside family. During his lifetime he became a Mason and Shriner attaining 33rd degree. In his younger days he cycled, was a black belt in judo, loved photography, traveling and most of all enjoying cottage time with family and friends.

A ceremony celebrating Joe's life will be held in the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at 11 am followed by a reception. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
