Passed peacefully at home on Friday, August 2, 2019 at the age of 85. Junior is survived by his loving spouse Geraldine; daughter, Heather (Shawn) Slack; son, Duncan Tanney; grandchildren, Jacqueline and James; two great-grandchildren Gracie and Ethan; and two brothers, Orville Tanney and Keith Tanney. He was preceded in death by his parents Gordon and Hazel (Darling) Tanney; brother, Gerald Tanney; and infant sister, Marie Tanney.

Visitation will be held at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Rd. 15, Maitland, Ontario on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, from 11:00 am until the time of Junior's Memorial Service in the chapel at 1:00 pm, with Rev. Marianne Emig Carr officiating. Interment will take place at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Maitland. Memorials are suggested to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care.
