Passed away after a brief illness on Saturday, June-21-2014 at Brockville General Hospital at the age of 73 years. Beloved wife of the late Hugh McCarthy. Loving mother of Mary Teresa Bernard (Roger), Kevin McCarthy (Sandra) all of Brockville, Mark McCarthy (Carrie-Anne) of Peterborough and Brian McCarthy (Julie) of Athens. Fondly remembered by nine grandchildren, Matthew, Courtney, Erica, Andrew, Shannon, Mitchell, Michael, Fiona and Gavin and by great-granddaughter Kiagh Bernard.. Also survived by her sisters-in-law Noreen Coulter, Edith (Jim) Kelly, Rita (Ray) Truelove, Patricia McCarthy (the late Gerald), Rita Kelly and brother-in-law Terry (Debbie) McCarthy; as well as by numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents William and Mary Kelly, her sister Frances Colterman (Emmett), brothers Carlin (Catherine) and William Kelly, and by her infant son Joseph McCarthy.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Monday, June 23rd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated at St. Francis Xavier Church on Tuesday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m. with interment following at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged.
