Passed away on Friday, December 4 th , 2020, at Kingston General Hospital surrounded by family, following a brief but fierce battle with cancer, at the age of 76.

A lifelong resident of Brockville, Patricia graduated from BCI and then Brockville General Hospital School

of Nursing. She enjoyed a 30 year career as a dedicated Registered Nurse on the BGH Maternity Ward

and has been a long-time executive member of the BGH Nursing Alumnae Association. She is

remembered by her family and friends for her generous spirit and welcoming nature, her love of singing

with the Shout Sister Choir, and as an avid curling and figure skating fan. She was an exceptional

seamstress who created many figure skating dresses over the years.

A wonderful and loving wife, mother, and “Gramma”, Patricia will be forever missed by her devoted

husband of 53 years, Peter Young; children Heather (John) Chartrand, Greg Young, and Joanne (Dean)

Connolly; and grandchildren Alaine Chartrand, Andrew Chartrand, Maddy Young, Emma Connolly, and

Devin Connolly. Also lovingly remembered by Patricia’s brothers Robert (Jane) Larocque, Dennis

Larocque; and by sister-in-law Sue Larocque. Predeceased by her parents Doris (Greenwood) Dixon and

Alexander Larocque, brother and sister-in-law Ken and Peggy Larocque, sister and brother-in-law

Doreen and Laurence Sicard, brother Paul Larocque, and sister-in-law Linda Larocque.

Sincerest thank you to the staff at Kingston General Hospital’s ICU for their excellent and compassionate

care of Patricia in her final days.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn

Memorial Gardens at 2451 County Rd 15, in Maitland on Thursday, December 10 from

2-4 pm and 6-8 pm.

A private family celebration of Patricia’s life will be held in the chapel followed by

Interment in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens. The service recording and video tribute is now available below
