It is with immense sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Peter John Empey on his 49th birthday, June 7, 2009. He was much loved and committed to family, and friends, who had the pleasure of knowing his kindness and generosity. He will be greatly missed by his son Jamie and his wife Jeanette (Jarbeau) and their daughter Madeline; his daughter Cortny Empey (Mark McIntosh) and her children Layla and Nadia. Dear son of Arthur Empey and the late Phyllis Empey. Brother of Barbara Hurren (Larry), Bonnie Perkins (George), Cathy Umgeher (Dave) and their children Arthur, Royce and Austin; and Mary Empey. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and by a special friend Katherine Marshall. Predeceased by a brother Michael. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday from 12 - 2 pm when services will be held in the Chapel. Cremation will follow at Roselawn Crematorium, with interment in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Donations to Harvest House or to the Salvation Army Harbour Lights Centre who were instrumental in bringing Peter into a relationship with his Saviour Jesus Christ will be gratefully acknowledged.
