Peacefully entered into rest at Ottawa Hospital, General Campus on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. Beloved husband of Carol Muriel Toohey (nee Haffie) and dear father of Brent Toohey (Danielle Avery), Darren Toohey, Jennifer Toohey (Scott Borish). Sadly missed by his four grandchildren Eilish, Aislin, Jacob and Eva. Dear brother of Veronica Steele (Don). Ron is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Thomas Haffie (Barbara), Helen Senecal (Dale), Dorothy Healy (Art), Donald Haffie (Sandra), Barbara Healy (Nelson) and Winona Ireland (late Donald), Marjorie Toohey, Betty Toohey and Ron Parr. He was predeceased by his parents Johanna Toohey (nee Yates) and Thomas Toohey as well as his brothers Thomas Myers, Donald and Bernard Toohey and sisters Kathleen Parr and Phyllis Sauve .

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.. A ceremony celebrating Ron 's life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at 10:30 am. Interment at Mallorytown Cemetery at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society of Leeds and Grenville will be gratefully acknowledged.
