<p>Davis, Shirley </p><p>(nee Oakes)</p><p><br></p><p>Passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Maple View Lodge, Athens, on Sunday, March 1st, 2015 at the age of 80 years. Beloved wife of the late Carl Franklin Davis. Loving mother of Kurt and his wife Sherry, Brian and his wife Sherrie, and Bruce Davis. Cherished grandmother of Krista Taylor (Ben), Jennifer Misener (Matt), Jillian Kelsey (Jason), Holly Spicer, Wendy Kawapis (Stan), Shaun Davis (Judy), Stacey Clare (Jeff) and Stephanie Davis. Cherished great grandmother of 26 great grandchildren. Also survived by two brothers, Donald Oakes (the late Betty) and William Oakes (the late Betty), and by a sister-in-law Win Oakes. Predeceased by her parents, William and Estella Oakes of Perth, and by siblings Harold Oakes, Eleanor McMillan, June Bygrove and Carl Oakes. </p><p><br></p><p>Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville, Tuesday, March 3rd from 9:00 - 10:45 a.m. A ceremony celebrating Shirley's life will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 am with a reception following in the Irvine Reception Centre. Interment at a later date at the Phillipsville Baptist Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Maple View Lodge Auxiliary will be gratefully acknowledged.
