Shirley Rutherford

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, at Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care on Sunday, December 23, 2012, Shirley Ann (Middlemiss) Rutherford of Johnstown at the age of 68 years. Daughter of Eleanor Middlemiss of Huntingdon, QC and the late Robert Middlemiss. Beloved wife of Howard Rutherford and loving mother of Jim Rutherford (Justine Jeffrey), Nathan Rutherford (Lynn) and Elizabeth Reddick (Matt). Cherished grandmother Hailey, Erin, Brianna, Jamie, Brady, Rilyn and Graysen. Dear sister of Bill Middlemiss (Brenda), Beryl Myatt (Stan), Gail MacDonald (Ron) and Roberta Wilson (Harold). Shirley is also fondly remembered by Debbi Rutherford, and by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland, on Friday, December 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and after 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 29th. A Ceremony in celebration of Shirley's life will be held in the chapel Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Roselawn's Tower Columbarium with a reception for family and friends to follow. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville District Palliative Care or to St. Andrew's and St. James Presbyterian Church, Cardinal, will be gratefully acknowledged.
