Shirley Scanlon

Passed away suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital on Friday, August 12, 2011 at the age of 81 years and in her 60th year of marriage to her beloved husband Kenneth Scanlon of Brockville. Cherished mother of Linda Mitchell (Rob) of Oshawa, Heather Bowden (Peter) of Newmarket and Rick Scanlon of Brockville. Dear grandmother of Ryan Mitchell (Brianna), Matthew Mitchell, Jennifer Bowden and Kristine Bowden. Fondly remembered by her sister Barbara Chapman (Brian Sullivan) and by her sister-in-law Joyce Kobsey (John). Predeceased by her parents Archibald and Inez Woods. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E., Brockville on Wednesday from 10 am until 12 noon. A service in celebration of Shirley's life will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 12 noon followed by a reception. Cremation will take place at Roselawn with interment at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation Palliative Care or the Wall Street United Church Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
