Passed away peacefully with his family by his side at the Kingston General Hospital on Tuesday,

February 13, 2018. Tonnis (Tony) Zwiers, at the

age of 85 years (longtime employee of Phillips Cables). Beloved husband of Garra (nee Hall) Zwiers and dear father of Margaret MacRae (Steve Jackson) and

Yvonne Abrams (James). Fondly remembered by his three grandchildren Ryan (Lorena), Joshua (Laura), Christine (Jason) and Ginny as well as several great grandchildren. Brother of Alice Visser (Tim), Berend Zwiers (Toos) and John Zwiers (Betty). Also survived by his sister-in-law Vicky Zwiers. Predeceased by a son-in-law Steve MacRae, his siblings Diny Luttjeboer and her husband Hemme, Ralph and by his parents Berend and Everinda Zwiers. Will also be missed by brothers and sisters-in-law Grant (Faith) Hall, Stanley (Carol) Hall, Ralph (Donna) Hall, Rosemond (Don) DeVito, Stephen (Bernice) Hall, Charlotte (Dale) Knapp and Carolyn (Wayne) Stevens. Also survived by several

nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Sunday, February 18th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. A ceremony celebrating Tonnis's life will be held on Monday, February 19th at 11:30 am in the Chapel. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Highway Pentecostal Church Young at Heart or the Lanark, Leeds and Grenville Alzheimer Society will be gratefully acknowledged.
