Nurse, BGH Class of 1950</p><p>Peacefully with her daughter Laurie at her side, at the Brockville General Hospital Palliative Care Centre on Thursday, January 31, 2013; Verna Edith (Smiley) Hunter, at the age of 84 years. Beloved wife of the Alfred "Allie" Hunter who predeceased her in 1998. Beloved mother of Pamela Saunders (David), Fred Hunter (Judy), Laurie Smith (Greg) and Brenda Neufeld (Randy). Cherished grandmother of Amy and Austin Hunter, and Clarke Saunders. Verna is also survived by her brother Wesley Smiley and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by siblings Margaret Darroch, George Smiley, Mabel Guevremont, Fred Smiley and Alvin Smiley. A private ceremony and interment will take place at a later date at Roselawn. Arrangements entrusted to Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville.
