Violet Smith
Entered into rest peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Tuesday, February 9th, 2010. Violet Jane (Harper) Smith, in her 102nd year. Wife of the late George Edward Smith and cherished mother of William Smith (Judy) of Calgary, Nancy Smith (Norm) of Ottawa and Susan Kennedy (Brian) of Winchester. She will be sadly missed by her seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and by her sister Geraldine Ryan. Predeceased by 3 brothers and 6 sisters. Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home & Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. A celebration of Violet's life will be held in the Chapel on Friday at 11 am followed by a reception. Interment will take place at Beechwood Cemetery, Ottawa on Friday at 3 pm. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.Obituary
