It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Willem Johan (Bill) Meinen on Saturday, February 12, 2011 at St. Lawrence Lodge in Brockville, in his 90th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Wilma Meinen (2009). Devoted father of Jannie Whiting (Dave) of Brockville, Ellie Meinen of Oakville, Erik Meinen of Virginia, U.S.A., Hans Meinen (Judith) of Oshawa and Jeroen Meinen (Debbie) of Brockville. Dear Papa to Jennifer, Owen (Jen), John (Megan), Robyn, Thea, Melanie Locke (B.J.), David, Josie and Marika. Also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

A service in celebration of Willem's life will be held at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 1 pm for family and personal friends of the deceased. Interment at St. Jude's Cemetery, Oakville at a later date. If desired, donations in memory of Willem to the Alzheimer's Society would be greatly appreciated by the family.
