William (Bill) Smyth

Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street Site on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the age of 84 years. Beloved husband of Elizabeth "Lily" Farr Smyth of Athens. Cherished father of William "Wilfred" Smyth (Sharon Devenish), Rita (Nelson Yarmoluk), Richard Smyth (Veridiana), Robert Smyth, Darlene (Allan Robertson) and Gordon Smyth (Monica). Sadly missed by his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dear brother of Norman Smyth (the late Violet), Sadie MacAdam (the late Davey), Lena Orr (the late Billy), Richard Smyth (Jean), Betty Bickerstaff (the late Gordon) and Geordie Smyth (Glenny). Also survived by many nieces and nephews; a daughter-in-law Susan Smyth; sister-in-law Agnes Smyth and brother-in-law Walter Boardman. Predeceased by a son Norman Smyth; a sister Jean (Billy) Braiden; 2 brothers Jackie Smyth (Jean) and Roy Smyth; a sister-in-law Rita Boardman and brothers-in-law Robert and Willie Farr. A celebration of Bill's life will be held at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, 201 Minet's Point Rd., Barrie on Saturday, July 25th at 1 pm followed by a reception.
