William Durant

William (Bill) Patrick Durant – April 13, 1936 - April 08, 2012 Passed away; peacefully, Easter Sunday at the Brockville General Hospital. Bill was Predeceased by two special women in his life and the mother’s of his children: Sharon R. Durant (Lancaster) 04/19/11 and Barbara Irene (Durant) Plume (Lewis) 11/23/11; Parents; Amos Arnold Durant 1901 – 1965; and Mary Ellen (nee King) 1908 – 1984. Brother’s – Reginald D. Durant - 1939-1980; Amos Arnold Durant- 1928-1993; Gordon Wesley Durant - 1933 – 1999; Sister’s Katherine Ann Harper and Marion Eileen Durant - 1930-1997. Also predeceased by Daughter; Eileen Mary Katherine Durant - 1964. Survived and will sadly be missed by brother’s James (Jim) Durant (Brockville) and Dan (Bonnie) Durant (Brockville); Cherished deeply by Children; Pat Durant (Mallorytown) Karen Durant (Brockville) William (Bill) Durant (Brockville) Michael (Joanne) Durant (Mallorytown) Dennis Durant (Mallorytown) Maryann (Shawn) Chase (Brockville) Penny Durant (Brockville) Kelly Durant (Cardinal) Also survived by fourteen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Also a couple of long time buddies Daryl Cuthbert (Brockville) and Ray Bowen (Brockville) as your friendship was valued. Following Bill’s wishes he will be cremated and at a later date will have private service at Oakland Cemetery. Those who wish may make memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke and Diabetic Assoc. at the Irvine Funeral Home, 4 James St., E.. WHAT IS A DAD God took the strength of a mountain, The majesty of a tree, The warmth of a summer sun, The calm of a quiet sea, The generous soul of nature, The comforting arms night, The wisdom of the ages, The power of the eagles flight, The joy of a morning in spring, The faith of a mustard seed, The patience of eternity, The depth of a families needs, Then God combined these qualities, When there was nothing more to add, He knew His Master piece was complete, And He called Him DAD. Loved and missed by all his loved ones and will never be forgotten.
