MCDONALD, Lawrence Edward (Ed)

Passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family at the Brockville General Hospital, Garden Street site, on April 7, 2017 at the age of 78. Beloved husband of Reta (Baker) and cherished father of Susan (Derek) Stocker, Shelley (Keith DeDekker) McDonald, Sheryl McDonald and Patti (Rick) Williams.

Loving Grandfather of Melissa (Darcy) Sauve, Matthew Hayes (Megan Moore), Meghan (Jason) McDermott, Macey Markell, Brett and Zachary Williams, and Step-Grandchildren Paul (Drue) DeDekker, David (Ashley) DeDekker. Great-Grandfather of Mackenzie McDermott , Sofia Sauve and Rachel, Dillon and Reese DeDekker. Also survived by his brother-in-law Carl (Rigtje) Baker and several nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents John and Margaret (Bulger) McDonald and his brothers Herb, John, Austin, Byron and Vernon, sisters Eileen Typhair, Stella Warren, and Lila Pineau as well as Jay Merkley (Sheryl’s partner).

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at ROSELAWN, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 from 11:00 am-12:45 pm. A service celebrating Ed’s life will be held in the Chapel at 1 pm following visitation.
