It is with sadness we announce the passing of Henry Thomas Bowen (Harry) on January 6, 2018, peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital with his loving family around him. Harry celebrated his 90TH birthday in September 2017 and enjoyed a celebration with his friends and family at the Royal Brock Retirement Residence. He is predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Pansy Barker, granddaughter Melissa Bowen, nephews Kevin and David Merriman, sister Joyce and parents Eligh and Hattie (Spracklin).

Harry leaves a large family to mourn his passing. Children Tom (Joyce), Fred (Sue), Bonnie (John), Rick (Kathy), Randy, Bubba/Danny, and Chris (Joanne). Grandchildren Mark and Mathew, Sarah and David, Kelli and Amber, Jason and Michael, Cassandra and Ben, Shawn, Randy and Mitchell and 15 great grandchildren. He was very proud of all of them. Also remaining are sisters-in-law Frances Merriman (David) and Joan Boisvert (Andy) and many nieces and nephews.

Harry was a veteran of the Korean War and loved the army life and the camaraderie. After leaving the 1st RCR he became involved with the Brockville Rifles. He spent many years teaching young people in the militia and enjoyed playing the bass drum in the Brockville Rifles Band. Darts at the Brockville Legion was another pastime he enjoyed with his beloved wife and family. Harry spent many years working for Canada Post from which he retired.

A private celebration of Harry's life will be held at a later date, with arrangements entrusted to Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel. Donations in Harry’s memory to Diabetes Canada or the Brockville and District Hospital Foundation; Palliative Care will be much appreciated.
