Finlay Hamilton Cook February 9, 1941 - April 17, 2017 Finlay passed away suddenly and peacefully at the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. He was born and lived in Collingwood most of his life. In 1970 he married the love of his life, Velma Zehr. Together they both enjoyed an active life of skiing, travelling, hiking, gardening, sailing and reading. Finlay was a great supporter of Velma's musical activities and All Saints’ Anglican Church. After graduating from Waterloo Lutheran University he taught school for a brief time, dabbled in entrepreneurial activities and was a long term employee of Goodyear Canada in Collingwood. He will be greatly missed by his wife Velma, his brother in law Carl Zehr (Sandy Chris), niece Chantelle Zehr (Brent Sutherland) of Kitchener, nephew John Zehr (Marian) of London, great nieces and nephews Danielle Zehr & Melissa (David Wright), Quinn & Sydney Sutherland, cousins Bill and Jack Kennedy, Barbara and his wide circle of friends. He was predeceased by his parents Finlay and Eliza Cook, brother in law Delford Zehr & his wife Grace and nephew Dennis Zehr. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be on Friday, April 21 from 2 - 4 p.m. at Fawcett Funeral Home, 82 Pine St. Collingwood. Memorial Service will be held at All Saints' Anglican Church, 32 Elgin St. Collingwood at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the All Saint's Church Music Ministry, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society or a charity of your choice.
